Wedding Fever

Showering to bring his fever down, my husband temporarily lost consciousness yesterday and nearly crashed through the glass sliding doors. If it were not for his father's insistence to stand guard nearby I most likely would not be getting dressed for our wedding. Staring down at the thermometer my temperature reads a hundred and one. The rabbi was called last evening and in light of the situation kindly agreed to perform the ceremony in my in-laws living room, instead of the synagogue. Revealing my symptoms will only cause more pandemonium so I decide that silence is the better part of valor for now. There is a very small and exclusive group of invitees and after news of the flu spread the list has become shorter. Some relatives have opted to get back in their cars and head home. And really, who could blame them?
