Comfort Me With Mallomars

When the demands of life are too much and only comfort food will do, a foraging of the pantry is the perfect antidote. I am usually bolstered up by an enormous bowl of anything salty and crunchy, but when that is not enough I find myself pilfering my husband's chocolate stash.  Pulling out a lone box of Mallomars, (a favorite confection from his childhood, found only on market shelves during the cooler months), I shamelessly devour two sweet little cakes in quick succession.  If you have never had the pleasure of these little chocolate covered marshmallow and graham cracker bottomed gems, you don't know what you are missing. In it's pure form it is medicinally consoling, but chuck one (two or three)  in a small glass bowl in the microwave for twenty seconds and it will allay any scourge that ails you.  The domed chocolate shines like the top of the Chrysler building and the soft gooey marshmallow oozes out the sides, in all it's glory.  No need for any therapy here.  Just sit back with a warm bowl, spoon in hand and all is right with the world.
