Follow-up to No Pretzels, Popcorn & Bagels

A few people have been freaking out about my previous "Less Carbs?" post. I feel your pain, I'm freaking out too.

I remember when fat was bad and carbs were good. When eating oat bran was the panacea against all that ails you.

Because you asked, here is the list of high glycemic foods, carbohydrates that can be easily converted into sugar, from the study released from MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Houston, Texas, that might cause lung cancer:

-White bread, including bagels, pretzels, popcorn and saltine crackers
-Corn flakes, puffed rice, bran flakes, instant oatmeal
-Short grain white rice, rice pasta, macaroni and cheese from mix
-Russet potato, potato chips and pumpkin
-Melons and pineapple

Who knows what research will reveal in a year or two. In the meantime, I believe, everything in moderation, with all the good for you foods taking center stage. But, sometimes, you just have to have a bagel!
