OMG!

So my friendly bug man arrived this morning.  He follows my blog and is well aware I'm working on a memoir.  He likes to inquire about my progress, endearingly, with school teacher like inquisitiveness.

I've left myself wide open I suppose.  He suggested, no he insisted, that I have an illustrator.  I laughed, "This isn't a children's book."  Then I thought better of my reaction, since he was only trying to help.  My reply did not deter him, as he continued to insist that I find an illustrator, right now.

OMG, I thought to myself.  It's overwhelming writing at times, I'm not having an illustrator, the idea is not even on my radar. But, he insisted.  "Just like you have pictures on your blog you could have pictures in your book.  Don't you think that would be a good idea?"

I knew the only way to appease his well meaning advice was to tell him that my son-in-law, a fabulous artist and designer, (all absolutely true), would be designing the jacket cover of my book, which  I have only just started, and don't have an agent or publisher for and may never ever see the light of day!  OMG!
