No writing today, I'm trying not to feel guilty, even though daughter said it is perfectly ok, under the circumstances.
I'm not even sure writing a blog is a good idea, with three hours of sleep I'm not feeling too coherent. I really don't know how early morning tv broadcasters do it, waking at 3 am and looking all bright eyed and bushy tailed by 5 am.
Anyway, back to the circumstances, which have nothing to do with my sleep deprivation. Mother-in-law had chest pains this morning and refused to call 911 until she could "talk it through first." Really? You're 89 with chest pains? This is no time for a chat.
"Either you call or I will," I said respectfully. The minute she got into the ambulance her pain thankfully subsided.
She may be a bit miffed since the hospital is going to keep her overnight for observation. She told me she should have waited it out. I replied she was in the best place she could possibly be. She scoffed at the notion, "The next time I have pain I'm going to keep it to myself." If I wasn't so tired I would have argued the point.
"Think of it as a vacation," I said, trying to lighten her mood. "If you want me to have a vacation send me to The Ritz!"
