Starve a Fever, Feed a Cold?

Or is it the other way around?  Either way, I am now fully vested into the maternal order of grand parenthood.  I have caught my first cold after my visit with Daughter and grandson.  Although the germs originated from Daughter, I still think it counts.

So, I am home, writing while enjoying a good pot of tea.  I don't want to venture out and expose the rest of the population to my germs.  Besides, I subscribe to the giving in mentality.  No sense fighting it; put on a pair of sweats and hunker down.

Which brings me to a topic Daughter and I were discussing that would fall under the heading of manners.

How often have you been to a party and you walk over to say hello to someone, who puts their hand up like a stop sign and says, "I'm sick."  Oh really, I think to myself, so nice of you to come and infect everyone here.

This one happened more times than I can say when I worked at Anthropologie. A customer wearily approaches you for help, "Could you find this top in my size?  I'm ill and I just have to sit."  Omg, really?  Who says to themselves, "I am so nauseous I better go shopping."
