Laura Calder's French Food, Interrogations and Baby, Oh Baby!

Home

Finished up writing in time to watch Laura Calder's, French Food at Home, a rarity these days. And in the spirit of trying new recipes, (I believe I mentioned the idea in a moment of delirium a few blogs ago), here are two enticing dishes I can hopefully add to my repertoire.  Salad with Nasturtiums and Raspberry Vinaigrette and an absolutely stunning dessert, Coeur a la Creme. I think Laura should tape some new shows.  Really, those Canadians don't know what a gem they have.

Anyway, I had time to turn the telly on because I'm home for an indeterminate amount of time, (and
apparently I think I'm English), while more work is going on in the house. Never ending, but nothing to cry about. It's just drywall and a few floor boards...keep it all in perspective.

Oh, did I tell you the air conditioning is kaput?  It may be a bit warm in here, but the upside is all this humidity is great for my skin.

Mother-in-law

Still in rehab, but I think doing tremendously well for someone her age. I can tell she is progressing nicely because she has not lost her ability to interrogate, eat more than her share of chocolates and accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.

A Grand Baby!

I know many of you are extremely disappointed with the absence of baby pictures and Daughter's entertaining entries. Since her identity was stolen, (Google has since shut the perpetrators down), Daughter has made the decision not to blog.

But, I can tell you this, Baby is becoming quite conversational with amazing physicality.  Recently, as we were eating salads together, (I know, pretty sophisticated palate for an eighteen month old), and after intent observation, he picked up his baby fork and knife and started cutting his salad with surprising dexterity.

And this is just too adorable not to share; if you shout, "raise the roof," he raises his little arms in the air, palms up and pumps his hands up and down, smiling from ear to ear. Baby's got moves, like his mommy and daddy and thankfully not his Gaga's two left feet!
