Daughter and I are toying with the idea of collaborating on a project regarding manners, in light of all the social media exploding around us.
A pet peeve of mine is close cell talkers; advertising the results of a gynecological exam, all while standing in line at the post office, in the grocery check-out lane, sitting next to you on a plane...
There are grey areas...
Yesterday I was on my daily walk, briskly passing birds and trees, with barely a human in sight, except for two elderly ladies, chatting in the distance.
When I passed them the first time, I was saying goodbye to Mother-in-law on my cell. On my way back, I was speaking with a friend and paused long enough to say, "I'm sorry for speaking over you as I walked by." One of the women stopped dead in her tracks, looked me straight in the eyes and said, "Yes, that was very annoying."
