A Different NYC...A Response To Shirababylove!

Dear Daughter,

We too have missed this city, where you were a student, a single working girl, then a wife and became a mother. But, we didn't count on how different New York City would feel without you here, as we celebrate our anniversary.

We miss you waiting for us in the hotel lobby. We miss the museums, the shows, the shopping and all the restaurants we've shared together.  And without you, my pants are too tight.

We have consumed humongous pretzels and humanstaschen (which wasn't Moishe's and not very good; I curse those extra calories).  And  revisiting our favorite haunts, like The Meat Packing District's, Buddakan, we shamelessly ordered for four, when we are only two.

So, the city you love, Daughter, is just not the same without you.  But, we are finding our own way.  I will try to walk more, because there's just no eating less.  And the city that scared me, but over your fourteen years in NYC, you taught me to love, is waiting.  Thank you for showing us the best time in our lives.

Pictures to come!

I teared up - not sure if I should be embarrassed or not. Haha. Hope you're having a wonderful anniversary weekend, despite missing your baby girl. xo
