My Heartfelt Thanks
I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my brother's recovery. Your calls, emails and texts mean more than I can say. The last couple of days have been good. Brother has less pain, is taking walks outside...he's even begun doing yoga!!!
Home Improvement
Progress! Tile is going up in the bathroom and floors are being ripped out in the laundry room! Awww, the sound of sledge hammers in the morning.
There is something to being homebound. Besides writing, I have become a cooking and baking fiend. I've decided to make two of everything. One for us, one for Daughter and family. By the time all our reno's are done, she'll have a treasure trove of frozen dishes to pick from. Daughter is due with baby number two next month, and we all know how tired you get near your due date, and the last thing you want to think about is, what's for dinner?!
Lesson for the Day
Recently, Husband and I were waiting to pay for some purchases, and the cashier made it very clear that she wanted to be anywhere, but at the register at Petco, ringing up our cat food. She was miserable. And you know me, I love a challenge; charm the birds from the trees and all. It wasn't happening. Which got me to thinking about some advice from long ago.
My first job out of college, a senior employee told me that no matter how rude or short someone may appear, be as kind as you possibly can. You never know if that morning they burned their toast, had a flat tire, or their boyfriend left them. I never liked that job, but that advice has stayed with me. A lesson well learned!
