Except for yesterday. In Whole Foods. Trust me when I say, this is a cautionary tale.
After picking up Milo from pre-school we stopped at Whole Foods for lunch and a short list of shopping.
After a healthy and varied selection on our plates we headed towards produce, proud of our lunch choices, confidently patting each other on our backs. There were a number of plastic domed stands, full of samples of holiday cookies, blocking our path. Ok, maybe blocking is not the right word, dotting may be more appropriate. Milo pointed with glee at the chocolate sandwich cookies and with his mommy's approval I gave him one. And then I took one for myself and Daughter. What's the harm in one little cookie?
Then I don't know what the hell happened. We couldn't eat them fast enough. We pushed our cart to every sample stand in our path. Pumpkin and Maple, Pumpkin and Cheesecake, and back to Chocolate and Candy Cane Sandwich cremes.
I'm sure people were judging us as baby two fisted the chocolate cookies. At one point he stacked two together. We looked like we had never seen a cookie before and hadn't eaten for days. It wasn't a pretty sight as I shamelessly circled back for more free samples. The Chocolate Candy Cane cookies are like crack, (of course I wouldn't know that first hand), you can't eat just one.
Anyway, beware the cookies...this morning I could barely zip up my pants.
