Melancholy...then Donuts!

I gave myself a few hours of melancholy, (a few good vents to Husband) and an extremely darn good donut and I'm back to enjoying our holiday.

Husband and I were walking through Portland when we came upon a line spilling from a store front. We looked up to the words, "Holy Donuts." Hypnotized by the smells of vanilla, chocolate and bacon we followed suit. They were dense, cakey, not overly sweet; medicinal. I am out of my funk. Not that a donut, on it's very own can really make one feel better.

I owe my recovery to compartmentalization. Maggie Mae and I have shared our husband's sage advice, deal with the present. Don't worry about what may or may not happen in the future. Live in the moment. And an exceptional donut can't hurt either.
