I am an accident waiting to happen. Why do you think I keep my cooking knives under lock and key? And I definitely should not be allowed to have any food with the potential for injury.
But, how I love the juicy, ruby red cherries of summer. And you'd think the couple of pits I unwittingly swallowed might have been a forewarning. (Don't worry, I Googled, "What to do when you swallow a pit?" I'm good. Unless I ate the inside of the pit. That would be very bad. All parts of the cherry tree, except the fruit, are toxic. Glad you asked?) My pit was so large it cracked my tooth. Aughhhh!!!!
So, please be careful if you cannot resist the bounty of cherries out there. There are lots of cherry pitters on the market, which I would have been wise to have purchased. So, pit your cherry pits, please!
