The circus that ensued the week of our wedding is remembered for the most part with humor and whimsy And all the pomp and circumstance of a ceremony, large or small, was never at issue. It was merely the vehicle which illustrated the pitiful amount of insanity in my home life. A life that I was too sheltered and naive to know was so hopelessly flawed. I romanticized that my mother would appear on my wedding day and all would be forgiven. Over time I realized the mother I missed, the mother that I so desperately needed, was sadly an illusion, a figment of my imagination.
