Leave the Fear Behind!

"I have to have what?" I bellowed, to no one in particular; incredulous upon learning of the recommendation for a colonoscopy. This was absolutely not acceptable news! And where was I when this proclamation went out? I am not hardwired for embracing such unexpected and overwhelming information with bravery and aplomb. Denial was my friend, until my husband's loving insistence and the news of a relative diagnosed with colon cancer brought me to my senses.
