A Different Time Continuum

I asked Mother-in-law if she was excited about her eldest son and daughter-in-law's visit. I am nothing if not loyal and will ferociously protect the blind side of those I love.

"You ask me if I am excited. Of course I look forward to seeing them, but you know they are really only here for one day." What? "Mom, they are arriving Sunday and not leaving until Tuesday. I do believe that is three days." I pointed out.

"Sunday is a travel day, Monday is the only full day they are here, and Tuesday they leave."

Putting on my lawyers hat (I once was planning on law school, another story for another day). "Mom, just answer the questions yes or no.Will you see them Sunday (they get in at noon, by the way)? Will you see them Monday? Will you see them Tuesday (they leave late in the day)?" You could hear a pin drop. "Well, if you put it that way, the answer is yes. But, it really is only one full day."

I rest my case, sort of.
