Oh Mother-in-Law!

I picked up Mother-in-law last week to see the house and lunch.  Age has not mellowed her, not one iota.  She's still got it, even if what comes out of her mouth makes me scratch my head a bit.

Her barrage of questions came at me the minute I strapped her into the car.  "Do you love this house, better than your old one?

"No, Mom, we loved our old house too. Just time for a change." She cleared her throat, "Is this development more upscale than _____?" Oy. I pulled into the driveway, "We are here Mom!" I couldn't get her walker out of the trunk fast enough as she practically hurdled herself out of the car. She can move fast when she wants to.

Our tour consisted of, "Do you like this (insert bathroom, bedroom, flooring, sink, faucet, shower head, toilet seat) better than your old one?"   How does one even answer these questions?

I took her to lunch, which distracted her from her line of questioning for a bit, until her tuna melt arrived.  She looked at her plate and said, "Is this the largest tuna melt you have ever seen?"
