Home...Goods!

I wrote for hours today.  Hours and hours...I should have a book already...hmmmm.  Anyway, after my marathon of write...delete...write...delete...and write, I made myself some lunch, watched the end of Laura Calder, French Cooking at Home, she was peeling little quail eggs (that's an exercise in futility if you ask me) and then rolled them in sesame seeds.  They must be good, Laura wouldn't steer us wrong.  And then I wrote some more.

By four o'clock I finally had enough and did what any self respecting new homeowner does, I made my weekly pilgrimage to HomeGoods.  I have a love/hate relationship with this purveyor of all things home.  Love, because if you are patient enough you can find exactly, or a close proximity of what you are looking for at an excellent price.

Today, I wasn't actually looking for anything in particular.  Oh, I have a list, it's just I begin to wane a bit after my initial jet propulsion of energy.  It's my modus operandi; I start with a bang, but if I let too much time go by I lose the impetus and sort of look at the empty spots in the house and go eh.

The love part came at me pretty quickly, I spotted a paper towel holder I've been searching for since we moved in and then made a rookie move by continuing to mosey on up and down the aisles.

Never, ever mosey in HomeGoods, get in and get out, or before you blink your cart will be filled to the brim...with stuff.  Stuff I gave away when we moved, baskets, glass canisters, an assortment of trays.  Ugh...I put myself in reverse and returned everything to their rightful homes, but the paper towel holder.  I headed straight to the cashier, averting my eyes to the loaded cart coming out of the back, oh no...there's new stuff...
