With some reservation I have decided to share my most recent mishap (unfortunately, there's a rather long list), to spare you any such misfortune and to explain my absence from posting.
Thursday evening, for no reason in particular I can think of, I decided to dance down the hallway, from the laundry room to the family room. I began with a little sashay, which grew to a few leaps and as Husband looked on from behind the kitchen counter I decided to end this spontaneous outburst of joyful mirth with a giant pirouette.
I completely forgot I was never a ballerina, and I was now airborne, flapping my arms like a bird, hoping to avoid the inevitable, landing smack onto the shiny wood floor below. My right arm was contorted in such a way, the pain so intense I wondered if it was broken. After a few unladylike outbursts, an inspection from Husband and a bag of ice, I realized I could in fact move my fingers, which was a great relief.
Typing for the next few days was futile, but I am now fully recovered. The moral is don't leap into the air from a slippery surface, unless you are a trained professional.
