Someone to Listen

I've been stuck, hitting the proverbial wall writers often encounter. So I decided I should read aloud, one page after another, which took a considerable amount of time, hoping to shake things up. This was all well and good, until I found I was confused (and I'm writing about me).

I called my friend Maggie Mae, for moral support. My dilemma arose, I lamented, from my book deleting and shuffling frenzy a few months back.

She listened intently, took a deep breath and explained, "This is like knitting. When you find a hole, you can try and fix it, you can even put it down for a bit and walk away. But, eventually you will have to go back to the hole, take it out and start again."

She's right, my Maggie Mae. I took a break, walked away, and now I'm back, untangling the mess.  And so I wondered, how could I avoid the "hole" in the future?  Perhaps, another set of ears to read to, besides my own?  Hmmmm...now who might that be?!  Any volunteers for a book club for two?
