A Follow Up to My Follow Up...

Just can't help myself.

So, my mother-in-law, love her, has always been a bit crafty. She knows how to get what she wants and I have always been an easy victim. Her first husband cherished the ground she walked on and put up with a lot, and as Husband says, his father was so exhausted from catering to her he died young, because he wanted to.

But, now at ninety one she is pretty transparent. Today when I called she answered with a happy voice, until she found out it was me and then her voice dropped, such a Camille. She forgot her charade a few times and said she went to two concerts. When I said how nice there's entertainment she quickly added that she may as well enjoy, since she's not long for this earth.

She can try and fool me, but I sense the tide is slowly turning. She said she had chicken salad for lunch, with tomatoes, but didn't eat the bun. I said, "Too much food?" Mother-in-law replied, "No, because of the calories!"
