A Follow Up...

...to yesterday's post. Let me just say that I have heard from a number of friends who like me, are dealing with aging parents. We share a common bond and it is comforting to have each other to lean on and commiserate with every now and then (especially when we are ready to pull our hair out).

I would like to say that although Mother-in-law lets us know in no uncertain terms that she is
extremely unhappy about her new digs we are told otherwise by her aids. She is attending activities, which I can attest to because I've tried calling her throughout the day and she is not answering the phone. Her chocolates are slowly disappearing. She keeps asking me where I've put her necklaces, and lets face it, you accessorize when you care about your appearances and are not planning on meeting your maker anytime soon.

And now I would like to explain that I am certainly not against a well appointed home (I do love design and decorating and I move my share of furniture around now and then) and a cute outfit. But, I'd like to point out that there's a distinction between enjoying and coveting.

And finally I would like to say to all my contemporaries that one day we will find ourselves needing more patience from our families. We may not walk as fast, or hear as well and I would hope that we will not annoy the crap out of our children. Just saying.
