Holiday?

It's good to be back, yesiree!  And now that I am feeling like myself I've hit the ground running with the arrival of Thanksgivukkah, the most wonderful time of the year!  I've shopped and baked in preparation. I've fried potato latkes for Chanukah and baked pecan pumpkin muffins for Thanksgiving.  All stowed in the freezer and ready to go!

Although, I am quite perturbed by the news that many major retailers are going to be open on Thanksgiving Day!  What?  I'm sorry, but I disagree with that arrangement.  Everyone should have a right to be home with their families, eating until their bellies are full, not ringing up sales.  Another blatant example of conspicuous consumption at the expense of hard working Americans.  I wonder, where will the CEO's of these companies be on Thursday...and what will they be doing?

The only way to combat this inequality is to stay home with your credit card stuffed wallets and then maybe the powers that be will get the message.  We all deserve to observe tradition in our own way, with those we love, and the opportunity to give thanks together.

Amen!
(Good call on freezing the latkes...I may just have to do that myself. Thanks!!)
